It's my duty as a mom to show Piper a positive example of what it means to be a strong woman. I want her to know that girls aren't just pretty little powderpuffs. We're more than dresses and hair bows and baubles. We are smart, spirited, powerful, and courageous.
But those lessons can wait.
Because as it turns out: bows, bracelets and the world's smallest french braid may not be all little girls are made of...but they are pretty fabulous.
And there's nothing wrong with being fabulous once in a while. (Even if you're still in your jammies).

DeleteMy daughter wears those play rings as bracelets too! Your so lucky you can french braid her hair. We're still working on getting it long enough for it to be visible in pictures. :)
ReplyDeleteIt doesn't matter what the item is- If her little fist can even remotely fit in it- she will turn it into a bracelet. Oh- and please don't get confused- that french braid was my mother's concoction. It's not even kind of sustainable- but it was fun for a minute (and mind boggling that she held still to let her play!)

thankfully, S's hair is so short I can barely tuck the wisps behind her ears still. thank God for youtube and lots of friends with girls b/c I have no idea what to do when it comes time to braid!
