Costume Week (month?): Grand Finale

The patience, you guys. I'm astounded at your patience. It's almost like you have something else to do besides sit around waiting for me to post Halloween pictures. How did you do it?!

Ok, for real, here's the deal. I built this up.

A little.

And it's not that Piper's costume isn't worth sharing...it's that we hit some stumbling blocks when it came to getting pics. She wore her "official" costume to daycare for "official" Halloween. But it was officially too big to fit in her carseat, so we had to roll with just the pants. Then she had to eat her breakfast, so the costume was a no to still. The teachers promised to dress her and take pics, as I had to head off to work, never seeing her fuzzy behind fully dressed. And by the time Dustin picked her up? The costume was long gone. And with the cold weather and dark evenings, we weren't exactly suiting her back up for a photoshoot (even I draw the line somewhere).

Blah blah, sob sob. Get on with the photos will you?

Here's the best we got of our little 'roo:

Can you tell she loved it!? Obviously...

Truth be told she didn't hate it...but the rescheduling if trick or treat to just after her birthday party (doesn't this city have priorities?) made for a bit of a long day. She'd put the suit on. But he wouldn't smile about it.

But even though she was a bit of a stoic kanga, she was still just about the cutest baby furry I could ask for. I mean, she has a baby joey. And mittens for hands. And a tail.

She did make it out to Trick-or-Treat, a concept that is completely over her pointy-eared head. We only stopped by four houses, just to see the neighbors we know. Any more than that would test our mini-marsupial's patience...and make us look like candy-grubbing baby-users.

So all in all, Halloween (and more importantly- Costume Week!) was a big success. I'm hoping by indoctrinating her early, she'll learn to love it. Or at least she'll follow in her father's footsteps and tolerate it because she loves me.
